Casey Melton has been involved with the joy of creative expression his entire life. His work deals heavily with the portrait both three dimensional and two dimensional. His style is very gestural in nature and presents a flowing stream of consciousness. Many of Melton’s images try to display a physical manner by creating what seems like uncontrollable movements with the lines and clay material that is used. This technique gives the work many aesthetic qualities. Casey Graduated from the University of Washburn in Topeka KS in 2010. The forms normally associated with Melton’s work are ceramic and the 2 dimensional charcoal drawing. Wood is also used as a means of support for some of the works and keeps with the nature of the work.
