|Patricia Ritter is an accomplished painter and silversmith, with a focus in watercolor.
She pursued her career as an artist and instructor and has taught many students to paint in watercolor. She has traveled throughout the US, Canada and Europe and uses these trips as visual and emotional dialogue for her artwork.
Her work has been shown for many years in one-woman exhibitions, group shows and she has participated in many art festivals. She is a member of the Kentucky Watercolor Society Association, Louisville Artisans Guild, the Madison Art Club, the Oldham County Art Guild, the Artemesia Society of Kentucky (also known as The Brunch Bunch), and is a founding member of The Sisterhood of the Flame. Her work can be found at many local galleries including the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, Rayluma Gallery, the Kentucky Watercolor Society Gallery and the Madison Art Gallery. She has had work included in art books, magazines and has illustrated a children’s book.
She was born in Montevideo, MN, and has resided in Louisville since 1970. She studied at the Louisville School of Art and graduated from the University of Louisville with a BFA, and has studied silversmithing and has been a maker of fine wearable art for the last several years.
